Construction continues on the ramp that will connect from Waterfront Park to what will become the Big Four Pedestrian/ Bicycle Bridge. The ramp should be completed by early 2010. More pics …

Protecting the Ash Trees in Waterfront Park

Because of the threat of infestation by the Emerald Ash Borer, Waterfront Park is taking steps to protect the Ash Trees in the park by using a special root treatment. Emerald Ash Borers are damaging and killing Ash Trees in a number of states, but have not yet been seen in the immediate Louisville area. Michigan State University has posted information about this threat at www.emeraldashborer.info. Tree Care Industry magazine has an in-depth article on Emerald Ash Borers in its June issue.
