The Michael Quinlan Brain Tumor Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping those persons who have been affected by brain tumors. Founded in 2001 in memory of Michael Quinlan, the foundation offers educational, emotional, financial and spiritual assistance. This 3.1 mile walk is our largest fundraiser of the year. Your $25 registration fee will get you a t-shirt, goodie bag, door prize ticket, and the satisfaction of helping a worthy organization. Join us for face-painting, music, refreshments and funds as we “Keep On Walking”!

Join the Louisville Metro Department of Housing & Family Services- Community Action Partnership division & Radio Disney at the 2008 Summer Food Service Kick-Off.  This event will provide food, fun, games, prizes and Summer Food Service program details and area services for children.  Several camps that will be providing scholarships are attending this event in order to provide scholarship information.  The Summer Food Service Program goal is to provide well-balanced, nutritious meals to ALL children 18 years and younger, regardless of income, during the summer months when they are out of school.

The AVP Crocs Tour Louisville presented by Kentucky Unbridled Spirit will once again showcase thebest in pro beach volleyball Memorial Day Weekend at Waterfront Park. The three day event will featuremore than 150 of the top men and women competitors in the sport and promises to be a weekend full of intense competition, interactive booths, great food, games and more!  Beach Volleyball was the number one rated Olympic sport at the 2004 Olympic Games and no doubt will take center stage again in 2008.  In 2008, all eyes will be on AVP athletes as our top men and women’s teams represent the United States on a world-wide stage at the Olympic Games.  2007 Louisville champions Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh will once again be competing in the event, which will be two weeks prior to heading over to Beijing to defend their Gold Medal at the 2008 Summer Games! Join the thousands of pro beach volleyball fans that welcomed the event to Louisville last year as we bring the excitement back for 2008.

Louisville’s most popular after work concert series.  For the seventh year, the Waterfront Development Corporation and the Louisville Public Media are working together to offer free concerts on the Harbor Lawn featuring national and local artists.  There is a cash bar and great upscale festival food.  Boat docking is on a first come first served basis.  Outside alcohol and glass are not permitted.  Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged.    

Musical guests: Back Door Slam, Jim White, and Ben Sollee. Information on these acts can be found on WFPK.

WFPK Waterfront Wednesdays take place the last Wednesday of every month, April through September. (Remaining dates: June 25, July 30, August 27, September 24.) The Harbor Lawn is located between the boat docks at the Great Lawn and the Children's Play Area. Parking is available along River Road, the Orange Lot, and surrounding pay lots. No outside alcohol, no glass, and please, no pets. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome and boat docking is available on a first come-first served basis.
