Street Bridge on July 26th and her new home with Kelsey Westbrook. There will be live music, a buffet courtesy of Joe's Crab Shack, and beer courtesy of Miller Lite. Information on animal cruelty awareness will be available from the Louisville Metro Police, Louisville Metro Animal Services, The Shamrock Foundation and The Ky Humane Society SNIP Clinic. Sunny will be present with photos and information on her ordeal and her current situation. There will be outstanding prize packages, as well. All proceeds will go towards spay/neuter services for SNIP, Shamrock and Metro Animal Services.
Presenting sponsor Joe’s Crab Shack, along with Dirty Tease, Earthborn Holistic canine food and Castor & Pollux pet food, are proud to show support for our four-legged friends by participating in an event to educate the public about animal abuse. “Sunny Day: Shedding Light on Animal Cruelty” will benefit three local, low-cost, spay/neuter organizations: The Shamrock Pet Foundation, The Kentucky Humane Society’s S.N.I.P. Clinic, and the Metro Animal Services S.P.O.T. Clinic.
Sunny Day will take place at Joe’s Crab Shack, beneath the restaurant at the Waterfront Wharf. The star of our event is Sunny, the resilient American pit bull terrier who was cruelly thrown from the Clark Memorial Bridge on July 28th, 2009.
Joe’s Crab Shack is providing the venue, food and operational needs. Dirty Tease has printed t-shirts for the event’s volunteers. Dog food for Sunny and for the silent auction has been donated by Earthborn Holistics. Castor & Pollux, another pet food company, has given $2,000 worth of food to be divided between The Kentucky Humane Society, Metro Animal Services, and the Shamrock Pet Foundation.
Admission includes a buffet courtesy of Joe’s Crab Shack, with beer available for purchase from Miller Lite. A number of animal rescue organizations will exhibit information and answer questions on animal cruelty as well as local spay/neuter services. Musical performances by local artists include The Can’t-Ables, Catherine Irwin with Michael O’Bannon, and Peter Searcy. There will be a silent auction that will include prize packages courtesy of local businesses. Sorry, this is a people only event. Animals present will be for educational and adoption purposes only.
