A 1.5 mile walk that makes a difference in the lives of people affected by Alzheimer's disease. Join the thousands of people nationwide participating in Memory Walk, the largest fundraising event for the disease. There will be sponsor booths, a DJ, refreshments, aerobics, and fun. Memory Walk helps fund programs and services such as help lines, support groups, and educational events.

Admission: Donations accepted.

A short walk could help someone take a life saving step. The 10th Annual Kidney Walk is a fundraiser designed to raise both awareness and dollars for the fight against kidney disease. The walk encircles Waterfront Park and is filled with exciting favorites: entertainment, games, giveaways, and more! The Kidney Walk presents an occasion for dialysis patients, organ transplant recipients, donor families, living donors, the medical communities and general public to celebrate life and support the National Kidney Foundation's mission.

Admission: Free! Donations are welcomed!


Waterfront Heritage Walks with Historian Rick Bell

A series of free walking tours, led by local historian Rick Bell, will explore the history of Louisville’s riverfront and the development of today’s acclaimed Waterfront Park. Beginning at the Belle of Louisville’s landing at the Fourth Street wharf, the 90-minute tours will end at the Lincoln Memorial. Bell will describe the riverfront’s importance to the growth of Louisville from its founding during the American Revolution, through its glory days during the Steamboat Era, to its renaissance as one of the world’s most successful maritime recreational parks.

The tour will start on the wharf in front of the Belle of Louisville and will conclude at the Lincoln Memorial. Free parking is available in the park. A convenient location would be the Green Lot - park and follow the signs to walk to the Belle of Louisville. (see map for locations of the Belle, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Green Lot). The total walking distance from your car, through the tour, and back to your car is approximately 2 miles.

Suggestion: Wear your comfortable walking shoes and bring drinking water and sunscreen.

Louisville’s most popular after work concert series.  For the seventh year, the Waterfront Development Corporation and Louisville Public Media are working together to offer free concerts on the Harbor Lawn featuring national and local artists.  There is a cash bar and great upscale festival food.  Boat docking is on a first come first served basis.  Outside alcohol and glass are not permitted.  Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged.
