The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a 5k scenic walk through Louisville's Waterfront Park. Proceeds will benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, to fund research, education, survivor and awareness programs - both to prevent suicide and to assist those affected by suicide. Please bring a picture of your loved one for the memory line. If you would like to bring a pair of shoes to represent your loved one, these will line the memory walk and will then be donated to charity. The Louisville Sports Commission has created Louisville's newest 13.1-mile running and walking event - the LSC Half Marathon - in partnership with numerous local, not-for-profit and civic agencies and organizations in an effort to promote healthy lifestyles in our community. The LSC Half Marathon promises a great experience for participants with a challenging and unique course, numerous forms of live entertainment, one-of-a-kind medals, quality tech shirts specifically styled for women and men, with one hundred percent of all proceeds going toward attracting more sporting events to Louisville.
The LSC Half Marathon will be held on the second Saturday in November each year, covering a brand new course (link word course to COURSE section) that starts and finishes in downtown Louisville and winds its way east through the Highlands, historic Olmsted Parks, and finishes with a stroll through the West End.

We will be hosting a one day scavenger hunt in downtown Louisville that will have us directing participants via cell phone. We will set up digital challenges using local landmarks and existing buildings. Players will be directed around for two hours of gameplay, earning points for each challenge completed. At the end of that time we will have the players return to the park. Finally, we will be giving away a new Chevy Sonic to the person with the most points.

Celebrate the holidays by visiting Christmas Tree Lane and purchasing your tree and holiday greenery at Waterfront Park.
Trees and greenery selections will include Scotch Pine, White Pine, Frazier Fir, Balsam Fir, Douglass Fir, and Spruce varieties from North Carolina, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nova Scotia and Vermont. Other items include wreaths, door charms, small trees, and garland.
Christmas Tree Lane is located on both sides of Witherspoon Street between Preston and Floyd Street. Free parking is available for customers along Witherspoon Street, in the Green Parking Lot at Waterfront Park (underneath 1-64 overpass near corner of River Road & Preston), and in the surface parking lot across from the Great Lawn.
