General Admission - Festival-style admission on the grass of the Great Lawn.  Lawn chairs and blankets welcome. There is no reserved seating.

Car Parking/Bicycles - On street parking is available in addition to many surface lots and parking garages, all within sight of the concert.  Bike rack will be provided to lock up bicycles outside the venue, at your own risk.

Concessions – Water and soft drinks will be available for sale as well as full beer and liquor bar including West Sixth IPA on tap.  For your nourishment, enjoy pulled pork, beef brisket, gyros, quesadillas, greek salads, hummus, loaded ribbon fries, portobello sandwiches and corndogs.

General rules for event: What’s NOT Allowed in the venue:

No solicitations, handbills, sampling, give-aways, etc.

What IS allowed in the venue:

• Lawn Chairs, Blankets, sheets and towels
• One sealed water bottle
• Small backpacks and purses
• Sun block

REMEMBER: All concert goers and their belongings are subject to search and prohibited items will be removed at the discretion of the front gate staff. These items are subject to change at any time and at the discretion of the front gate and security staff.

Children 2 years of age and under are admitted free with paying adult.

The Color Run is a 5K colorful fun run promoting Healthiness & Happiness. Participants start the run wearing all white, and are showered with food-grade colored corn starch at Color Zones throughout the course. Runners end the race "tie-died" at a post-race dance party.

Soul food cuisine as we know it today has its roots in the American south and describes a selection of foods that are traditional to the taste buds of African-Americans. Kinfolks Foundation, Inc. fuses together the tradition of good times, good music and good food with an opportunity for an average of 10,000 consumers per market to engage with brand ambassadors and non-profit organizations dispensing invaluable free information. This target-rich event is known as the Kinfolks Soul Food Festival.

Launched in 2007, the Soul Food Festival has attracted more than 400,000 Urban Adult consumers across thirteen U.S. markets featuring hit-making internationally-recognized artists including Gladys Knight, Guy, Morris Day & the Time, Chaka Kahn, Jeffery Osborne, The O'Jays, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, The Whispers, Stephanie Mills, Jonathan Butler, Will Downing, Peabo Bryson, Cameo, Jodi Whatley, Tevin Campbell, The SOS Band and many others.

The Waterfront ChallengeThe Waterfront Challenge is a 5K Urban Obstacle Night Race on the river in Louisville, Kentucky. We're combining cross country running, road racing, and obstacle conquering with a PARTY ROCKIN' good time!

The course winds through the most beautiful parts of Waterfront Park and will present you with natural and temporary obstacles, along with military drills and CrossFit challenges. The race is designed to be fun yet challenging for all fitness levels. After you've crossed the finish line, join the festival! Celebrate by staying to party the night away on the Big Four Lawn, where there will be music, dancing, food, beer and more.

A portion of all proceeds will benefit the Louisville Waterfront Development Corporation.

2014 marks the 13th year of Louisville’s most popular after work concert series! The Waterfront Development Corporation and Louisville Public Media work together to offer free concerts on the Big Four Lawn featuring national and local artists.  Concerts take place on the last Wednesday of every month, April through September. There is a cash bar and great upscale festival food.   

Outside food and alcohol are prohibited. No coolers, no glass & no pets allowed in the event area of the Big Four Lawn. For more information, please call 814-6500.  Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged. 

Parking: Parking lots are highlighted on this Parking Map. In the park itself, the Blue Parking Lot (Wharf Parking) is paid parking; all other park lots are free. Lots adjacent to the park are paid parking.

This free walking tour, led by local historian Rick Bell, will explore the history of Louisville’s Big Four Bridge from its days as an important carrier of freight and passenger trains to its current incarnation as a pedestrian/bicycle path.

This 90-minute tour will start at the top of the ramp to the Big Four Bridge, proceed across the bridge and back, for a total distance of approximately 1.5 miles. Free parking is available in the park and on the north side of River Road. (See map for location of Big Four Bridge and parking.)

Suggestion: Wear your comfortable walking shoes and bring drinking water and sunscreen.

Additional tours will be offered the last weekends of July and September.

This free walking tour, led by local historian Rick Bell, will explore the history of Louisville’s riverfront and the development of today’s acclaimed Waterfront Park. Beginning at the Belle of Louisville’s landing at the Fourth Street wharf, the 90-minute tours will end at the base of the Big Four Bridge. Bell will describe the riverfront’s importance to the growth of Louisville from its founding during the American Revolution, through its glory days during the Steamboat Era, to its renaissance as one of the world’s most successful maritime recreational parks.

The tour will start on the wharf in front of the Belle of Louisville and will conclude at the base of the Big Four Bridge. Free parking is available in the park and on the north side of River Road. The total walking distance to and from will be approximately 1.5 miles.

Walkers will have an opportunity to purchase Bell's book, Louisville's Waterfront Park - A Riverfront Renaissance, by paying for it at the Belle of Louisville and then collecting it at the end of the tour and having it signed by the author.
